Management Accountant up to £50,000

Due to retirement an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified and commercially focused management accountant has arisen with a well-established security business as they channel their energies towards further growth.

An incredibly busy and varied role that offers you the opportunity to develop, make it your own, and progress to board level within the next couple of years.

Working closely with the Managing Director you will take full responsibility for the accounting and finance function.  Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of the Accounts Department; ensuring sales and purchase ledgers, credit control and tax are all carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Producing monthly management accounts and associated reports; accruals and prepayments, reconciliations etc.
  • Budgets and forecasts.
  • Processing payroll and submitting returns.
  • Project accounting.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and all regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Management of the Company pension scheme.
  • VAT Returns
  • Processing foreign currency payments.
  • Company Secretarial work
  • Year-end accounting including journals and reconciliations.
  • Corporation tax calculations.
  • Reviewing and improving processes and leading a project to migrate on to a new project-based ERP or accounting package from Sage.
  • Management and reconciliations of the bank, expenses, and credit card accounts.
  • Management of dividend payments.

The successful management accountant must be a team player with first class communication and organisational skills.  Sage 50, including project and stock models, Sage 50cloud Payroll and Excel to an intermediate or advanced level also required. And a full understanding of project accounting, the costs and time allocation.
